Sustainability
At The Base Camp Co. we are committed to creating a sustainable and greener future.
We recognise that productions can generate a significant carbon footprint whilst filming. While we take great care to minimise environmental impacts, certain effects, like those caused by transporting facilities vehicles and crew to location, are difficult to avoid.
That's why, at the start of 2024, we introduced several initiatives aimed at balancing these unavoidable impacts and raising awareness on a production-by-production basis.
Tree Planting
To help offset your carbon footprint, we plant 4 trees for every unit base day you book through The Base Camp Co., and 2 trees for any crew parking day booked with us.
As of December 2024 we have worked with TreeApp to plant over 3,500 trees on behalf of our production clients, reforesting over 5,500 square meters of land, which will absorb over 380 tonnes of co2, as well as creating work for local people.
Environmental Projects
The Base Camp Co. supports The British Bee Charity. Bees are vital to the ecosystem as essential pollinators, supporting biodiversity, food production, and environmental health. Through building beehives thanks to our work with Bees & Co, it provides safe habitats that help sustain bee populations, ensuring their continued role in maintaining these critical processes.
The Base Camp Co. are also proud supporters of Project Zero, helping in the fight to protect our oceans and marine wildlife. Protecting the oceans is essential for preserving healthy marine ecosystems, ensuring food security, regulating the climate, and safeguarding the vital resources that sustain life on Earth.
